The virtually important person in the courtroom is the venture; a referee is a chosen or elected judge who head over court actions. A judge rules on questions of law, acts as a referee between the prosecuting parties and renders decisions in effectual disputes. A judge performs a selection of responsibilities inside the courtroom. In the courtroom, a judge hears charges of the accusing and defending parties, listens to witness testimony, rules on the admissibility of evidence, informs defendants of their rights, and instructs the control board, questions witnesses, and rules on motions presented by counsel. In criminal court, judges restore the guilt or innocence of criminal defendants and impose sentences on defendants found guilty. In civil cases, a judge may determine liability or damages.
