Today I arrived at in Kingston, Jamaica at approximately 11:30 am. The weather sheet ride here was pleasant and the food was astonishing. When I stepped foot off of the plane into the Caribbean Island known as Jamaica I experienced a consciousness of relaxation and I smelled the soothing Jamaican air. Waking up from a shack in the slums of Kingston where the majority of the Rastafarians lived I decided to write about what I observed from the day before. When meeting with the Rastafarians I asked various questions to help me with my research. One of the questions that came to my question was what is the reason for the hair and the color scheme? Demetrius Oliver had quite a story to tell me.

He is one of the first people to start the Rastafarian movement. The colors each stood for something that meant a lot to their culture.
