Southeastern Universitys centralized purchase department supports more than 25,000 under polish and graduate students and about 3,500 staff. There argon 12 facilities, many chronic education and certification programs and three affiliated colleges. The purchasing department, direct by Blake Hyatt, is responsible for negotiating, signing contracts and maintaining those contracts with suppliers. The purchasing process begins when a command is submitted to the department. Other information, such as tax and duty status, product classification and supplier status, is added to the requisition.




The requisition form allows for the preferred supplier to be provided but policyrequires a solicitation of at least two written quotations for purchases in pointless of $7,500 and at least three quotes for purchases in excess of $15,000. Additionally, all purchases over $100,000 must be posted on the internet. One of the buyers then prepares an RFQ which is submitted to the approved suppliers that can handle the work. in one case all bids are received, the buyer evaluates and selects the best supplier and issues a purchase arrangement.The selection criteria to become an approved supplier are weighted based on: price 50%, respectfulness with specifications 25%, service 20% and partnership 5%.
