Bcor 1020 Project

Project #2:
Prices and Ratings of Movies on Amazon.com, examined.

BCOR 1020
Section: 060

Executive thickset:
The pursuit work consists of data collected from the mental picture socio-economic class on Amazon.com. Fifty-deuce flicks were observed and for individually film the following data was recorded…
* Sum of total 1- ace, 2-star, 3-star, 4-star and 5-star orders that to each one movie received based off customer reviews.
* The total summate of customer ratings overall of each movie.
* The price of each movie according to Amazon.com
After this data was recorded the sum of each type of rating, overall, was found. That is the total number of all 1 star ratings from all 53 movies and so on, for all 5 rating types. These numbers were used to create a proportion for each type of rating. Next I found the shape of a certain graph in order to make a unwrapcome about the way customers govern movies on Amazon.com. This graph would show the type of rating on the Y-axis and the proportion of that rating on the x-axis. I did five 2-proportion possible action tests to decide what the shape of the graph would be. I made the conclusion that the shape of the graph was in fact a J.

I decided that based of the shape of the graph, customers tend to treasure movies higher and also that they tend to be more exact about how they rate movies. Next I would find out what the correlation between the numbers of ratings left for a movie and the price of the movie was. I wanted to determine go of not the price of a movie would dictate how umpteen ratings were left for that movie. I found that the correlation between the two variables was very weak. After conducting a hypothesis test on the correlation, I concluded that the correlation was not significant and could not be used to determine future ratings. Finally I examined both the regression and correlation analysiss created on excel based of the two variable.
